TECHKY TIMELINE: THEN 'TIL NOW
The 3rd year is the charm, literally! Techky Apparel, ran by my husband and I (check out our ‘About Us’ page on our website), will be celebrating our 3rd birthday this year on July 1st! OMG! So many people have been on this journey with us from 2020 until present day but a lot of people don’t know how it all began. This Techky timeline will take you on a quick, fast & informative ride through the hands of time of our brand.
JUNE 2020
-Opened early access pre-launch & created Techky Apparel Instagram page
-Sent out exclusive emails to subscribers who received passcode to access merch BEFORE store officially opened
-Started mini-series “Making the Brand” on Instagram TV (before reels even existed)
JULY 2020
-Pre-launch was LIT so decided to open our e-commerce store on July 1st instead of July 15th
-Added embroidered snapback hats to our merch line up/lookbook
AUGUST 2020
-Created Techky Apparel Twitter page (currently still learning this platform)
-Co-Founder (that’s meee) celebrated 30th birthday
-Introduced embroidered t-shirt designs
SEPTEMER 2020
-First blog feature on My Savvy Life by Stephanie Carls
OCTOBER 2020
-Welcomed joggers as a part of the Techky lookbook (because we were only going to be a t-shirts shop)
-Created exclusive line for breast cancer awareness to be donated to Susan G. Komen Foundation
November 2020
-Hosted very FIRST giveaway
-Had our FIRST Black Friday Sale
December 2020
-Closed out our first 6 months of success & planned for the New Year
January 2021
-Got our first 400 IG followers
February 2021
-Dropped our bestselling V-Day collection
-Started doing our own photography & elevating our content
March 2021
-Techky Mission: Representation of Many collection dropped
-Featured in Voyage ATL (article found in the ‘press’ section on website)
-Gained over 500 followers to the Techky tribe
April 2021
-Had our FIRST pop-up shop in ATL
May 2021
-Attended Plantlanta at Oakley Elementary & gave the students some tech knowledge
July 2021
-Techky Apparel turned 1-year-old on July 1st, yay!
-Launched our bestselling collection ‘No Signal’ with shorts added to the Techky catalogue
-Featured in ShoutOut LA (found in ‘press’ section on website)
September 2021
-Dropped bestselling collection Certified Tech Lover (inspired by Drake Certified Lover Boy)
October 2021
-Attended Black Future Weekend tech meetup and got some of our t-shirts in the hands of CNN contributor Van Jones, Wild-N-Out comedian Emanuel Hudson, ATL Housewives & tech baddie Tanya & more!
-Gained 1,000 IG followers
November 2021
-New bookbags added to Techky catalogue
-Dropped Icey & Black tie hoodie with sweatpants collection
December 2021
-Started Techky Topics Blog
-Ended 2021 with Cheers to the New Year virtual invitation only party for Techky supporters to hang out, play virtual games, pop some bubbly & chat with Techky Founders (my husband and I)
January 2022
-Featured in Printful’s Small Business segment on their IG page
March 2022
-Launched original Techky wall art for Home & Office collection on website
May 2022
-Attended Plantlanta for a 2nd year of fun & all things Techky with the students at Oakley Elementary
-Launched super dope Hype beast style with matching set TECH WRLD collection in new colorways
July 2022
-Techky Apparel 2nd year ANNIVERSARY!
August 2022
-Designed & launched Equality for Women in Tech (and STEM) collection w/proceeds going toward W.I.T (Women In Technology- a nonprofit empowering girls & women to excel in S.T.E.A.M)
September 2022
-Re-stocked bestselling CTL (Certified Tech Lover) but in its new & improved beefy tee version
November 2022
-Dropped upgraded version of Techky EST 2020 hoodie collection by adding embroidery with stitched Techky logo on right sleeve wrist AND dropped 6 new color combos. The collection name was also changed to Techky Signature because it’s the brand name on the design with year Techky Apparel started
-Techky Signature collection became one of our top 5 bestsellers too!
December 2022
-Spent time with family and recuperated for the New Year 2023!
And it does NOT stop there because 2023 will be our year of evolving, collaborating & community outreach. We have sooo many ideas and plans so God willing we will accomplish them all!
